It has been an very busy year so far and the weeks slip away. I spent the early few weeks of the year writing our book, which has been my intention for some long time but a busy life never seemed to give any time to settle down to it. Anyhow now it is on its way but I will not be able to carry on until the Autumn as the weeks are too hectic now.
Preparation for our 50 Year Celebration has been foremost in our thought whilst also making for all other events has been ongoing. Ceramic Art London was the first one of the year and went well but the sudden death of Tony Ainsworth, The Craft Potters Association Administrator was very sad indeed. Tony was a great enthusiast for all that the CPA stood for and supported potters all the way. The Council and all members owe him a great debt. Tony worked so hard to get the new gallery in Great Russell Street opened and it is an excellent London venue.
We showed again at Earth and Fire in Rufford with rather windy and wet weather but it did not dampen the enthusiasm. Aberystwyth followed at the end of June then Art in Clay at Hatfield in July. It was great to have wonderful weather for this show as we had been nearly drowned out last year!!
We have taken one two week school in Spring this year and David has also taken workshops at Potclays, Stoke on Trent.
At the time of writing the exhibition opens in two days. The work is now all displayed and we are hoping to have a great day. Visitors are welcome to visit the workshop after the opening for food and drinks in the garden!
We hope you can join us.
