David Frith - Tall Bottles

David's bottles come in many shapes and sizes and form a significant part of his production. The shapes vary from round, tall, squared or oval. The larger ones are formed from two pieces. He makes the bases first and leaves them overnight to stiffen but always covering the rims to prevent them from drying. The next day another piece is thrown, turned over and immediately added to the base and then thrown up to give a continuity of form. The leather hard bottles can be paddled to make the oval or squared shapes.
